Our Favorite TV Show Celebrity Reunions
Reunions are not only about schools and families. Reunions of any kind are an inherent part of our culture. We are especially interested when it comes to celebrities and our favorite TV shows, musical groups and movies. Since The Reunion Planner is located right here in Los Angeles just bordering Hollywood, we thought it would be appropriate to check out what popular celebrities and groups have reunited. There have been many such reunions over the years, but for our first Featured article on entertainment reunions, we thought we’d take a look at some popular TV shows in times of yore.
The Mary Tyler Show.
A reunion of female members appeared on the present running show “Hot in Cleveland.” Mary Tyler Moore, Valerie Harper, Cloris Leachman, and Georgia Engel reunited with Betty White who stars in “Hot in Cleveland” on a few years ago. In the episode, the Betty White character and Georgia Engel decide to reunite with their bowling team which includes Moore, Harper, and Leachman. It was entertaining to see these female characters from that long running and very popular TV show get together.

Melrose Place.
The cast of “Melrose Place” reunited on “Good Morning America” 20 years after the show premiered in 1992. The cast only had fond memories of their time together. Heather Locklear says she is still mistaken for the awful and mean Amanda Woodward which gives her a laugh. Courtney Thorne-Smith recalls playing blind Allison Parker and then “regaining her eyesight. Grant Show fondly remembers long kissing sessions with Daphne Zuniga as Jake Hanson and Jo. He said “no plot” just lots of kissing. Entertainment Tonight celebrated the 30th anniversary of “Cheers” with Ted Danson, Shelley Long, Kirstie Alley, Rhea Perlman, George Wendt, John Ratzenberger, and Bebe Neuwirth. They reminisced about their years on the 1982-93 NBC comedy and how they would have liked the show to have progressed. Arrested Development.
The reuniting of Arrested Development is somewhat of a different reunion. All the cast members got together sponsored by and for Netflix and made 14 more episodes which will be available in later in the year. This inspired 2003-2006 Fox comedy was about the Bluths, a family of self-obsessed oddballs whose real estate fortune vanished, sending them into financial and spiritual chaos. There are many long-lasting shows which fans would love to see have reunions: Friends, The Cosby Show, The West Wing, ER, Full House and many more. Fans are always curious about what the former cast members look like now, what went on during the taping of the shows, what memories are special to them and how they have fared since the show ended.
